Why do Labour, the Tories, and Reform UK all back free zones?
Clue: It begins with F and ends in eudalism.
Labour, the Tories, and Reform UK all back deregulated free zones. They all back the £64 billion in projected costs to the taxpayer for the next 25 years, that is the duration of the licenses for the 86 free zones; 74 SEZs and 12 Freeports.
That £64 billion is State aid, which is being funnelled to businesses like Blackrock, Blackstone, PEEL Group, and Deloitte, who are setting up in these zones and soaking up your money as corporate welfare.
The same underwhelming returns and total corruption going on in these new free zones reveal once again that they are a colossal waste of public money.
The NAO have been refused permission to investigate England's 48 SEZs and 8 Freeports. Angela Rayner has delayed a security audit into Sunak's flagship Brexit Freeport at Teesside.
So what's changed, and why have free zones been resurrected so quickly after Brexit?
It's about the EU's rules on State aid and its regulatory framework on SEZs. Deregulated Free zones are a right-wing libertarian Ponzi Scheme, they are completely different to the regulated SEZs in the EU, which prevent companies from using State aid as profit motive. That's it, that's what it comes down to, fleecing the taxpayer and installing corporate governance, while screwing everyone not on 200k a year.
The UK's 3 main political parties have gambled that if free zones can lift developing countries out of poverty (which in reality they actually don't), the UK can exploit free zones as a post-Brexit win, but ideology yet again comes face to face with brutal reality. The same mistakes made with Thatcher and Cameron's free zones are now resurfacing in Sunak, Starmer and Farage's free zones model.
The 3 main parties are all complicit in Zone Fever, corruption as a key component of free zones is rife, look at Teesside. Hayek's Bastard's are all of the same conviction that trickle-down economics will benefit those at the bottom in the long run, that we must let the rich get rich before everyone else. They all believe that privatisation of public services will in time, prove that the welfare state is no longer needed, and that entrepreneurs inside these zones will sort it out themselves without big government interfering in capital gains.
But guess what? It's not just public services that are being privatised, it's entire regions of the UK.
Free zones carve out jurisdictions with different laws and regulations from the host country, they are embedded with secondary legislation, which means zero Parliamentary or public scrutiny. This is why no one has heard about this.
Just remember, the hypocrisy on show here is that the UK's 3 main parties depend on public money to advance ever more brutal attacks on public infrastructure, to replace it under corporate governance.
These people are thieves and monsters.
Ask anyone in your family or neighbourhood, or down the pub, if they've heard of SEZs and they will look at you like you have 2 heads. No one voted for this. What's happening is a live corporate coup hidden by an obscene theatrical spectacle of distracting headlines
3 cheeks of the same arse..
People don't realize the real (Social) democracy has been swapped for so-called "Bourgeois democracy", which means only the Ruling Class/Oligarchs have an actual vote.
The public "elections" is a theater performance designed for a single purpose - give the people the Illusion of "choice/turnover of power" and maintain legitimacy/status quo of the Ruling Class.

You can vote, but you cannot select
Excellent new piece, EP
Why? I’d say clue: It begins with c and ends with ruption, personally. But I’m blunter than you ;o)
I think its the same type of corruption as the DUP in NI a few years back. There was no legal accountability for that scandal in the end, either.
“The Renewable Heat Incentive scandal, also referred to as RHIgate and the Cash for Ash scandal, is a political scandal in Northern Ireland that centres on a failed renewable energy incentive scheme that has been reported to potentially cost the public purse almost £500 million. The plan, initiated in 2012, was overseen by Arlene Foster of the Democratic Unionist Party, the then-Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment.”
